Ok so as the sadness wears away, the end of an era, an epic show, a TV phenomenon I cant help but be annoyed, befuddled and feeling a bit cheated.
I really really had my hopes that there would be MORE answers!
Dont get me wrong, the very very ending when Jack and his Dad were in the back of the church and Jack was coming to the realization of death was a beautiful idea of what happens when we pass on. I really did she a tear with the idea of your loved ones that were an impacting part of your life being WITH you as you continue your transition to heaven. It was also pretty sad just that it was over and to have all the characters in one place.
What i DID understand and LOVE about the tail end of the finale was how they got each other to remember and each "survivors" character kind of came full circle by "replaying" vital moments in their lives in the flashsideways
speaking of flashsideways: WTF!!!!!!!!!!! anyone want to explain to me the meaning/reference/representation...WHAT IT ALL MEANS?!
The whole 2.5hrs was also very action packed, but as the minutes ticked away, I just kept saying to myself "ummm ok...wait, what?!"
I kept trying to piece what we learned tonight to the last 6 seasons, but to know avail. I really am very confused as to what the overall story is.
also...there was alot of speculation about the very ending with Matthew Fox's death...and I have been up late arguing this with Justin:
What is the meaning of Jack laying in the jungle watching a plane fly by and out of nowhere VINCENT (the dog) comes and lays beside him!
anyone with any good clear concise, 1+1=2 answers PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post!

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel...
...or better yet the light in the middle of the island, at the end of the river :) WHATEVER....
ANYWAAAAY
FINALLY some answers! We finally find out why Jacob brought them there and their "purpose" or "prerequisites" for becoming a candidate. They had an emptyness, a sad existence in their lives. And now we know why some were crossed off. Now im going to try to fall asleep thinking of why each person was crossed off. Kate was explained because she became a Mother (admittance: i drew a tear on that one!) It is still a shame and am still curious like Kate was about why most of them then had to die?!? Was it to make good tv, was it because at the very end before they died they had fullfilment of some magnitude? (sorry i cant come up with an example of that at the moment - can anyone?
I KNEW Jack would totally step up to be the Protector. And although Sawyer was trying to be snarky, he hit the nail on the head with Jack's "God Complex". Is anyone else curious about the epiphany look that jack gave jacob after he drank from the cup? And now Jack is just like Jacob (im assuming this means he will not age and cant be killed)
I am very curious as to how they are going to explain the way that the Smoke Monster can be killed/defeated! Although he is not REALLY the bad guy, I have really come to like the complexity of LOCKE, his journey and his overall character.
The flashsideways has now become really really interesting? So what, now Hurley and Desmond know whats going on? We know that Desmond, Hurley, Kate, Sayid, Miles, and Jack will be at this concert. Miles' dad also has something to do with it, and since he is that freaky Dharma Initiative Scientist I wonder if they are going to somehow be beamed to the island? Or all mysteriously remember the other life. *i heard a rumor that there would be a scene (well now its obvious its during the finale) that EVERY character since the beginning would be in one scene. Now im thinking it will be at this concert!
Does Hurley know everything that is going on? He knew Anna-Lucia right off! (p.s i loved anna lucia, the writers of this show had to do some hell of a storyline tweak when she was arrested back in 2005!)
WHO IS JACK'S SON'S MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????? Juliet? Anna-Lucia? That australian chick that helped them get connected with the freighter?
I cant wait til sunday, but i know it will be bitter-sweet. I also was disappointed that since i DVR'd LOST i was too late to text a "farewell message" to be played during the finale. But then again that maybe a good thing because then Id be looking for my message instead of paying attention.
Ok so there wasnt much insight tonight because, well, we had a bunch of stuff answered. So i guess we could just open this up to opinions and our own "farewell" messages to LOST!
oh...::sniff-sniff:: what are we gonna blog about next week? :(
it makes me sad that I didnt create this blog seasons ago...well it was fun while it lasted!
happy posting!

WOW!
I will turn all your attentions to my previous blogs where, yes folks, you heard it first from my clarevoyance! ::does the i told you so dance:: It has become a meaning of perspective. For 6 years we have seen it one way, through the eyes of Jacob "the good side". This good-side being the dictator and the one we must not even question has been telling us the otherside is bad. But what of the M.I.B's story. What if he was made out to be bad so that no one helps him out. (Its very similar to the story of Elphaba if any of you have seen WICKED. And if you havent you SHOULD) She wasnt really bad, but because she was green and dressed in dark clothing she was ostrasized. Moral: is someone born bad or just turned bad is some way. With Jacob and the MIB he genuinely just wants to go back to where he "came from" because he doesnt "belong". Sound familiar? Jack has been singing a similar tune up until he finally left in season 4.
THEY ARE TWINS!!!! I totally did not see that coming. But does shed some light on why their "mother" made it so they "cant hurt each other". This notion we may have taken too literally all this time. Maybe she meant this because they are brothers. Think about it, could you really kill/hurt your own sibling? I know I couldnt...so maybe the "loophole" the MIB has previously referred to is because neither of them could bring themselves to actually physically hurt each other because there is so much history between them.
How is it though that Jacob is able to be virtually ageless, like Richard Alpert?
Is it because of the promise he made when he drank the cup? Then where did he get his special powers (making Richard immortal, showing himself to Hurley etc)?
Was his accepting the wine a play on communion? Possible. He accepted an offering in exchange for a righteous promise.
What makes the MIB "Special"? His "mother" thought that he would inherit this job of watching the light, til the MIB rebelled. Did she think the MIB would be sort of the Prodigal Son? (read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parable_of_the_Prodigal_Son)
If you notice some of the factors that make MIB "special" we saw is that he:
-can see and talk to the dead (like Hurley)
-(kind of) "sees" things. He knew how to play the game, and knows his Wheel creation will work (similar to Desmond, kinda sorta?)
twist of irony: When you really weigh out their differences; Jacob is the one who is easily "corrupted" - although up until today we thought he was calling all the shots. And last night were shown the parallel. Jacob's fake-mom was "keeping him good" for all we know she could be a looney and thus corrupting him.
I looked up the meaning of light because i was really curious about this strange golden orb in the brook,...in the middle of the jungle. It comes from Matthew 5:16: let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven."
I cant wrap my finger around if/how this translates to any meaning in LOST or last nights episode so I throw it out to you guys and see what you make of it.
PHEW im drained and may go watch it again to see if I missed anything...
*P.s sorry i didnt post by midnight...i was exhausted and had little time left before the baby woke up for his next feeding!

And end to an era approaches
Whhhhhhhyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?
I am so destraught by the Titanic-esque demise of my beloved Kwons that all my clever observations that I was making note of while I was watching has disolved quickly into the used tissues piled up during the episode.
I cant believe that by the end of this month LOST will be OVER....OVER. O-V-E-R!?
*on one note, just to nitpick (Kelly and K-10) will agree with me:
Claire moved WAAAAAY to easily and effortlessly considering she is supposed to be like 8.5 months pregnant! Next time she plays a pregnant woman she should really work on the preggo-waddle and do some better acting! Haha! ;-)
I am going to watch the episode again tomorrow morning with Justin, and usually when I watch it again I find lots of little clues and interesting "sights"
However, I completely encourage all of you to vent your remorse, spill your condolences for the Kwons, and if you managed to gain any insight aside from experiencing SUCH a loss...PLEASE, PLEASE post!

Reunited and it feels soo goooood...
So it would seem we atleast have been privy to ONE answer. Jack's dad; Christian Shephard was really then the Smoke Monster taking his form. To his defense it was so they could find water? Possible? Again - what if this Smoke-Locke is NOT a bad guy...it may be about perspective.
Just to backtrack: Anyone have any clue as to who the Little Boy was in last weeks episode?
Most importantly....SUN & JIN!!!!!!! FINALLY! I definitely went through a tissue or two. Its about damn time. I was hoping however they would have done that "hazy=slo-mo reunion thing" but it was still moving. And both Kwons...STILL wearing the pearly white clothing. I have a feeling that this is not a coincidence. Maybe neither of them have been tainted with evil.
Ummm also, am i the only sick-o who expected them to be zapped by the gavel-looking fence thing on the beach?!
In the scene before the anticipated reunion, we see the Kwons in the hospital and everything for ALL of them was going to "be okay". Is this the cause or the effect of Island life.
The concept of Cause & Effect has become a key theme to me, especially in tonights episode. Maybe this is the turning of the tide. Going from "finding your true love" (trite) to somehow trying to figure out which world is the cause to the effect. In other words is the flashsideways the "cause" or the "effect" of the island life.
I love how it is (and i use this term heavily) slightly coming together. We see the chosen 6 all somehow come together and intertwine in the flashsideways: Sayid - Miles & Sawyer : Sawyer - Kate : Desmond - Claire & Ilana : Jack - Claire, Ilana, Locke...etc etc
(I was watching some episodes from Season 5 with Schwimmer a few weeks back and noticed that when we first meet Ilana she has an irritatingly fake accent, and now she doesnt - AT ALL. It makes me wonder, did they phase out the accent because it was so god-awful or because it was part of her undercover persona?)
Im not sure if i missed it or not... Did sayid really shoot desmond? Is he really dead or are we left up in the air to guess?
Who the hell is Jack's wife in the alternate-life?!?!?! Its killing me!!!!
Is it safe to say that Desmond is now sort of the facilitator of fate? Too bad he isnt one of the candidates. That would really be the gum on his shoe if that were to happen.
*Small easter egg: The numbers popped up again in tonights episode. The building claire was entering was "48" and she was going to the "15th" floor
And ive been saying that Whidmore would renig on his promise...bastard!
Thats all I have really, my apologies for this not being all that clever...im confused!
P.S. I am starting the pool now: Who will end up being Jacob's replacement? Anyone care to make as assumption?
I feel its too obvious but Im going to say Jack since he has made the biggest change. And the show pretty much focused around him since the beginning. I wont be super thrilled if this is how it ends, but thats my feeling as of this point.
Happy Posting!

Hugo's the Boss?
I dont really have much to analyze and pick apart tonight because...well basically I was blown away by the episode (no pun intended considering all the dynamite set off!)
I will say that I was happy to see the "Bizzaro" world alternative for Hurley. This weeks episode title couldnt have been more dead on: "Everyone Loves Hurly". It was good to see Libby again, and in this alternate life, they got to have their first date unlike the unfortunate outcome in season 2. On that note, I thought it was a funny twist that in this flashsideways world, Hurley asked out Libby...whereas on the island she asked him out to which he responded "you mean...like a date?" CUTE!
I see (a little bit) where this is going, as I have been saying the survivors somehow in someway are replaying in their Flashsideways what has happened in their previous life (i.e. when we see hurley sitting in the Psych Rec room - VERY similar to when we saw this same scene a few seasons back. I dont think that was coincidence)
I fear that the show is taking a strange and trite turn. Since last week the show has alluded to the idea that our Survivors are looking for "love" in order to make their worlds mesh. Im not really 100% supportive of this theory, but its one that i've heard tossed around recently a few times. If the show ends with an emphasis on searching for your "true love", i will be disappointed.( Shocking, i know, since you all know I'm a sucker for cheesy-over the moon-sappy-love stories )
The closer we get to the end, the more we are being served of new information and connections. Am i the only one not being able to fuse all these connections IF they exist? 4 episodes left people!! And every tuesday night, i ask myself: "how the hell are they going to wrap this up?!!?"
What I can gather so far is that now desmond is the ringleader on the mainland and Hurley is the new "protector" on the island.
*(Athena this is especially for you)Did you notice: in the "scenes for next week" snipit the background "music" was the crazy-schizo monologue that Willy Wonka recites while on the Wonkatania when they go through the Tunnel of CREEPY?!?!?! I thought that was fitting. The writers not only have great taste in classic movies but have a sense of humor as well.
JOhn Locke's hit-and-run was the nail in the coffin of my confusion because he didnt have a flashBACK; which i assume is what Desmond was trying to do. Anyone with some goodies from tonights episodes, im dying to hear! Because im practically the mayor of Confusedville at the moment.

A Penny for your thoughts
note: my wonderfully clever husband has copyright over this week's title. I had writers block!
I fully anticipated Desmond having a Jerry Maguire-esque freak-out when waking up and realizing he was back on the island, with his less than loving father-in-law; Charles Widmore.
Which brings me to good ole Chuck! What a character, seriously! I still do not fully trust his intentions on the island.( Which, did any of us even ask HOW he got back there? And lets not be smart-asses and say "the submarine"!)
His parallel life is of interest as well. He no longer has a daughter, just Daniel (faraday) and is still married to Mrs. Pendulum. I feel that in the flashsideways: The new Widmores may be the hinge to this timetravel thing. I believe they ALL know what is going on!
Daniel: From quantum physisist to musician. Not that far fetched. Lets not forget that when Daniel was younger he was a musical prodigy which led him to lead an overachieving academic life. What we have learned in seasons past is that Daniel and Desmond have a unique talent of meandering the labyrinth of time. Is this how/why Daniel knows about his half-sister Penny? And where to find her...
Penny: What a great way to have Desmond and Penny reunite at the same place where Desmond first met Jack (season 1). Desmond was jogging up the steps to train for a "race around the world" when he stumbled upon Jack. I am confident that as many of us have shrewdly observed is that the sideways-lives of some of our survivors in some way turn out the same (So far its Sun, Hurley and Desmond). Maybe this may help us narrow it down to who will take over for Jacob. Those who follow similar paths in in both lives may have a better chance of being THE CANDIDATE?! Let me further analyze: is it possible for the survivors that showed purpose and upstanding values to be better candidates? Possible?
Eloise: Pendulum lady bothers me, I feel as though she always likes to throw a wrench in the gears of progress, shes a big old brick wall. Maybe she is still reeling from shooting her own son. Which didnt happen in the flashsideways. Maybe I just like to make her my scapegoat of when things go wrong for our survivors
Back to Charles Widmore: I LOVE LOVE LOVED that in the flashsideways he approves of desmond AND offered the whiskey with the comment that "nothing was too good" for him. Charles Widmore is aware of Desmonds "talents", but who then schooled Widmore on Time travel and the islands ability to enable these talents? Oh boy...
Also who noticed the Harbor that Desmond and Charlie pass as they were driving?! This was the same harbor where Desmond, Penny and baby-charlie docked their houseboat/yacht before Desmond was shot by ben linus in order to try to convince him to return to the island. Now can we assume that soon after Ben shot Desmond, that he was somehow whisked to the island by some of Widmore's henchmen? Does this make the timeline of Desmond arriving to the island is plausible?
Love at First Sight: Tonight is not the first we hear of this novelty idea. Desmond once asked the same to Jack (if i recall correctly). Jin was also told by his Korean Brother that he would meet the women of his dreams by love at first sight, and the color of his love would be Orange. I like to believe that the "rapture and beauty" Charlie saw as he was dying on the flight was in fact Claire.
So where do we go from here? There is a new turn in the survivors parallel lives. Is it now going to be that for each survivor to remember their lives on the island they have to have a near-death experience?!
Sheesh...only 5 episodes left. I am interested to see what Michael has to say for himself to hurley next week.
OH!!! and bonus points to the first person to tell me who the limo driver ("george") was in the Island-Life!

Some Kind of KWONderful!
bahhh! Again we are left with Jin and Sun UNunited. I will say however, the pictures shown to Jin of his little girl -- TEARJERKER.
Ok so observations:
firstly, ive begun to notice a subliminal wardrobe on the survivors. Notice: that some members of our beloved survivors are donning dark/variation of black clothing; Sayid, Smoke-Locke, Sawyer, Claire,...even Richard and Jack - HMMMM.
Both Kwons, even Kate are wearing light colored clothing. The only one wearing a color of distinction is Hurley. This brings me to think, are those with dark clothing already in someway "claimed" by Smoke-Locke? With these writers, this kinda stuff is rarely a coinsidence.
TomAYto - TomAHto
i loooooved the symbolism behind the "stubborn" tomato. It can represent so many things. Because it came from the garden that Sun created, the tomato can represent the fact that she bore the "fruit" of her love, Jin. (Lets remember the island for some reason works as a super contraceptive) Or does the tomato represent both Jin & Sun in their determination to find each other and to bloom under severe environmental factors?
Now here is my new idea on the time-travel/flash sideways...
what if the actual TIME of the flashsideways is later on. Ok ok let me rephrase better. I know it has been explained that the flashsideways represent what would have happened had the plane landed safely at LAX airport and not crashed. So what Im saying is that that doesnt necessarily mean that the flashsideways pick up exactly at the time that the plane "safely landed". You follow?
Example: In tonights flashsideways; Jin and Sun werent even married....but they were when they were on the plane that crashed on the island. Therefore there MUST be a difference timeframe of these flashsideways? Yes? Maybe?
THOUGHTS?!
Now i bring to the table what is to be made of this whole new set of "others"
I dont think I fully trust Charles Widmore. Again I feel this is turning into a big "he said-she said" and I dont know whom to believe. So i will open that up to the rest of you because I have no good insight on this whole Widmore/Submarine thing.
oh! and WHERE THE HECK DID DESMOND COME FROM?!?!? Is that the "package"? Yea I dunno. It makes me frustrated that the writers have said this whole season that the time for questions is over.....if that were true there would be no point of this blog.
So thats it from me ladies. Baby is down and out and I am fading fast. Cant wait to see what you think!
(P.s for those of you who are somewhat aware of my husbands incessant need to blog about Politics to fight the "injustices of liberal extremism"...he is very proud of my new Blogging :-)

Put a cork in it! ...Evil that is!
Firstly; I love the positive responses to this blog, AND all the insights from this weeks episode. I had been looking forward to the Story of Richard Alpert for a while.
Its the oldest of battles, Good vs Evil. Light vs. Dark. And Free will vs. Fate.
The MIB is still a confuddling character to me, because after this weeks episode they try to show you the "other side of the arguement".(Im going to play devil's advocate here for a moment, no pun intended)
Lets for argument-sake take away the categorizing colors of black & white. You could argue; What if Jacob was the evil being? The MIB makes compelling arguements against and is also very persuasive. Which then turns into a a whole "he said -she said" push-pull between Jacob and the MIB.
I dont know how I feel about the idea of Richard being "baptized". I guess its a valid observation. We'll have to wait and see if we were right during next weeks "enhanced" episode.
So, i did a little research because im obsessed with looking for little hints and "easter eggs" of information as the producers call it. I thought that maybe there was some importance in us seeing the section of the Bible that Richard was reading while he was in prison: "St Luke". Upon looking it up I found that Luke was invited to become one of the evangelist & disciples to spread the word of Christ. However the word evangelist is NOT synonymous to disciples.
Now, I see this as foresight for what would happen later on in the hour. So i guess maybe had i paid MORE attention in CCD I could have seen that eventually this would be Richards "job". Thoughts?
The cork and the wine: AWESOME metaphor. Especially at the end when the MIB smashed it, to symbolize his escape.
In that same scene I thought it was interesting to discover (for the most part) WHY the "survivors" are there. REDEMPTION. The same theme that becomes more and more obvious with each episode. Jacob says that the MIB collects those [people] who are corruptible and would do his bidding to kill Jacob. And then Jacob's reasoning for bringing them to the island is for them to right their previous wrongs; "the past doesnt matter here" <--- thats not a direct quote but it was something like that ;) HENCE what I think the flashsideways are (somehow). They are a glimpse into how they would redeem themselves. Double-HENCE why i am ruling out Sayid and Kate to be Jacobs next replacement. In their parallel lives they fell victims to their same poor judgements.
There is still much more to discover with the LOSTies and the island:
Who will be the winning candidate?
WHAT are the specific identifying qualities of each Survivor that brought them there? And why have they been chosen (some of them) since they were kids?
Will Locke/MIB Smoke Guy get off the island?
Will Claire reunite with her son?
Will Jack stop whining?

Evangelist:travelling missionaries, occasionally solemnly set apart...They were endowed with a special charisma to preach to those unacquainted with the Christian Faith and pave the way for the more thorough and systematic work of the pastors and teachers. But their office, as such, seems to have extended no further

L.O.S.T Launched!
...Ok so here it is. The L.O.S.T Blog.
L-last
O-opinions of
S- six
T- 'Thusas
It has been along the timeline of the shows inception that we were all living under the same roof at one point or another. Time may have revealed the fate of many of the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815, but ah, our friendship ever connected by their plunders and successes.
This is going to be way easier than trying to remember/keep track of who's Facebook status you commented on, and how many times you had to re-type your brilliant foresight, insight, and predictions of our favorite, gripping, edge of your seat show: LOST
Tonight. Exiciting. Not only the premiere launch of this blog... BUT
Richard Alperts story.
I cant even begin to predict what nuggets of information we are going to uncover tonight. I know I will be a bit behind on my next post because I am DVR the enhanced and new episode. (However if i can figure out how to view and post to this blog via my new blackberry then i may be able to atleast read what everyone wrote tonight, today, during the week during my 4am feedings)
Ok so rules? Eh?
Deadlines? neither.
Looking forward to everyones two cents!
